Disabled man not loving it after snubs at McDonalds
Just a few days ago a man named Mark Carlson who works with disabled people in University, at a place called Access Center. Mark was impacted by the service he was perceived as in the McDonalds across the street form his job. Since Mark has retinitis pigmentosa, which is an alternative of degenerative eye disease. Mark is still able to verify a head but is not able to distinctly see the figure of the face for example the way the face is constructed, making it look blurry to his vision. Well, since he suffers form that eye disease he has a license to be accompanied by a guide dog. But that morning as he derived a feeling of hunger for a Mcmuffin at McDonalds, as he went up to the cashier for his order. The person at the cashier corresponded to Mark’s service in an inappropriate way. She repeatedly told him that he could not have his dog with him. Mark was shocked when he heard the remarks of the employee as show his Guide Dog Id and a card that spoke of his rights. The women still did not believe what was happening to him, so he choose to speak to the supervisor who as well refused him service. So Mark went back again to the McDonalds a second time with a police officer and two colleagues form his work, he received the name from the workers. Mark, the manager and the workers settled everything at a meeting, where Mark did not sue the but asked them to not to ever treat a disabled person the way he was treated that very much offended him. I can’t believe the workers didn’t believe he had the right to have a watch dog, even if they had showed them his license. But there are very lucky that Mark is a good person, because they could of got in trouble and then later it would have been a bad thing what they did.

- The San Diego Union Tribune
- New era tolls for county's commuters
The article that I read today was about a toll way that will open in San Diego. It is called the south bay expressway. It is the first toll way in San Diego County. It is set to open on Monday. It will carve out a new frontier for commuters willing to pay the price. Under a novel deal sealed in 1991, Caltrans asked a private company to build and manage a nearly 10 mile segment STRUCTURE of state route 125 without a cent of taxpayer money. To cover its costs and eventually earn a profit. The company will charge a toll for at least 35 years. Prices for vehicles such as cars and SUV’s will range from 75 cents to 3.75 depending on the length of the trip and how the toll is paid. That might be hard to PERCEIVE for people accustomed to driving California's vast web of freeways. It is expected to have a huge IMPACT on congestion in south county.
- I think that this article is boring. I just read because it is my work. However I would like to try that route out sometime.
- One interesting thing that I learned is that the route cost $843 million.

U.S.D. Running BACK

J.T. Rogan is a USD running back who needs 47 yards to get 1,000 yards. The speculation is that he is smart mouthing his coaches and will not be getting starting the next game. JT has played a key role in USD's success the past two seasons with the Toreros going a combined 22-2 with back-to-back Mid-Major National Championships and PFL titles. A versatile player, he is a four-way threat as a rusher, receiver, kick returner and occasional passer. When other players see him playing the get intimidate by his dominating size.

The article I read today was about Jake Peavy and the Padres. The article said alot about Jake Peavy and how he is just happy to be in the situation that he is in and the financial situation that hes in too. His contract still has two years left with the Padres but once he's done with this one, he wants his next one to not be about money, but about his teammates. He says he is happy witht the way things are going for him and i wouldnt doubt it. He doesnt even want the money anymore. He just wants to be able to help out his teammates. He said he would love to finish his baseball career at Petco Park. Which is two years away. He just got a 3 million dollar bump on his check to for being votes his leagues outstanding pitcher. He said in a speech that he doesnt want his next contract to be about money, he said he wanted to be fair with the rest of his team. He wants to finish his career at Petco Park and it think that is what is going to happen.

I think this is good because he was our pitcher for a long time and a goof one at it. and i think he should finish his career here at Petco Park.

He got an extra 3 million dollars for being voted most outstanding pitcher in our league.

“No Doubt, It’s Peavy”
What I read in the news its that Padres pitcher Jake Peavy stood near home plate at petco Park yesterday and spoke in awe of joining a select club whose members include hall of Famers such as Sandy Koufax and Bob Gibson. “there is no reason a kid from population 12,000, Semmes, Ala., should be standing here today,” Peavy told Padres personnel and about 200 fans assembled behind the plate. It was the 12th time choice for the national league's best pitcher has been unanimous. Koufax achieved the honor three times, Greg Maddux twice, and once by Gibson, Steven Carlton, Rick Sutcliffe, Dwight Godden, Orel Hershiser and, most recently, randy Johnson in 2002.
I agree with this honors because they deserve them.
I also agree because they worked hard to get to that spot.
I agree because they can cheat, to win this game, and had to make a lot of sacrifices.
I think the most interesting fact its that he had his own speech in Petco Park.

Marine is given 6 months for abuse.
In the newspaper article in the union tribune it talked about Sgt. Jerrod M. Glass a drill instructor denigrated 23 men last year at the Marine Corps Recruit deport in San Diego. Glass was facing 9 ½ year’s in prison a huge IMPACT in his life now, there have been 40 other cases similar to glass’s case with other drill instructors. He was demoted to the lowest marine rank “private” and now has a bad conduct charge. They all have been punished with 3yrs for misconduct involving recruits. Glass was very shocked at the time they have given him, he just kept on blinking. He told a member of his court that he was fine with all but he had red moistly eye’s while in the back his parents were sobbing in and out of the court room showing STRUCTURE, Both parents had said that they still have respect for the Marine Corps but they just have a problem with the judicial system. I for one agree that it’s a good thing that the marine is now to be in prison, for all those things that he has done and for him to get away with it its wrong, his family is sobbing and mad at the case and he as well is mad but it was his choice, he was the one who decided to do all that. Although there have been many cases similar to Glass’s I still wouldn’t agree for them to keep him in the marines and just give him the lowest ranking. It would be better off if they just took him out of the marines.

♫The article I read this morning was about a suspect who was shot in a shootout and killed. There was also an officer injured. The incident happened near the interstate 805. The freeway was closed onramps at El Cajon Boulevard and University Avenue. A worker from the Union Tribune said he was on his way to work last night around 8:40 pm and that the officers made him and other drivers pull over in their car on the freeway. The worker which is Shawn Onephonesy, 28, said he then heard about 10 gun shots. He says that the man appeared to be on foot on the freeway. After the shootout the southbound ramps to 805 were closed on interstate 8 eastbound and westbound, and interstate 805 was closed between interstate 8 and interstate 15.

♫Reflection:
♫The article I read about today was interesting. I would have been very mad if I was on the freeway and then some guy decides to make a crime and starts getting chased by the police so the freeway gets shut down. Its interesting to know that the police are doing there job that kind of stuff I can really get into it.

♫Fact:
♫An interesting fact that I learned about in this article was that the scene caused a major traffic jam.

Many of San Francisco's visitors have been having to reschedule their vacationing plans due to the oil spillage in the San Francisco’s Bay area. Many of the visitors that had plans such as fishing swimming or surfing are having to either cancel their plans or go to another beach that is further south of the damaged area. The spill has had a great IMPACT on both marine wildlife and on humans. The spillage occurred when an oil carrying ship crashed into a bridge STRUCTURE and was tipped onto its side spilling 58,000 gallons of bunker fuel into the ocean. Environmentalists are truly outraged because of the quantity of the animal life that has been affected by the spill. The incident has CONSUMED many animal’s lives. Hundreds of dead birds have literally washed ashore. Yet as we PERCEIVE this incident today it’s not the first or last in its kind and it is sad to see that companies are not more careful regarding these issues. Officials say that it is now safe to go in the water yet I don’t think they could have cleaned the water completely and apart from that fishing is prohibited and its ESTIMATED that it will be allowed until sometime next month.

♥ San Diego Union Tribune
♥ Teacher: Allegation, firing tied
♥ For today’s morning blog, I read an article in the newspaper. The article I chose was on a former teacher at UCSD Charter who was fired because she was tampering grades. Although she cooperated with the investigators 100%, she was still fired. The investigation began in June of this year and has been going on more than it was expected to. The principal of UCSD and an academic adviser were put on leave on September 12, pending the outcome of the investigation. Some of the teachers are not sure whether to renew their employment contracts with UCSD because of the tampering with grades and attendance. But they expect to be done with the investigation by the end of December.
♥ I think that it’s good that there is some investigations going on but I feel that this should happen every so often to make sure it stops. I don’t think teachers should be second guessing their jobs because of one person’s wrong decisions.
♥ One interesting fact is that The person who decided to give out the valuable information of the teacher declines to comment on the case.

There was a lady who was rapped by seven guys she was sentence to 200 lashes. This took place in Saudi Arabia she was a rape victim and she got sentence to 200 lashes and 6 months in jail. The reason she was punished is because she was with another guy in private when she was married, in Saudi Arabia it is illegal to be with another guy when your married. Her ex-boyfriend, the guy she was with was sentence to 200 lashes. The attackers all got sentence to 10 months to five years in prison and 80 to a 1,000 lashes. The husband of the victim said he planned to appeal the verdict.

Today in the union tribune the marine who was suspected of abusing 23 men in his winter quarter was ended yesterday. Sgt Jerrod m. glass was demoted lowest ranked marine. The judge found out that he beat the 23 men. Glass faced a maximum of 9and a half years in prison. Two guys who worked with glass Sgt Robert Hankins and Sgt Brian Wendell will also be charged for helping glass with these abusings. Hankins, Wendell, and Glass supervised the same platoon of recruits. Beyond their case, more than 40 other drill instructors at the depot have been punished in the last three years.
I think that they should charge him and the other guys too because they deserve what they get

In the article, Tracking the White Shark, I learned of how technology is helping to explain how White Sharks live. The article began with an explanation of how the sharks are being tracked with something no bigger than a flash light. The tracking devices beam a signal every 15 seconds of where the shark is and how much light is present meaning how deep the shark is traveling. The tracking devices automatically fall off after a month and float to the top allowing the researches to recover their three thousand dollar device. Researchers use the information to track the sharks and in the process they have come to some great information including what attributes to the some of the shark attacks. They have also found spots were sharks congregate and where sharks of a certain age are located. They can use the information to find where there are an abundant amount of fish, how many are left, and if they are endanger of over fishing.
This article shines a POSITIVE light on White Sharks that have a bad reputation because of the AFFECT of the media. The IMPACT that this article has had on me seems small but the way that I PERCIVE sharks is also slightly different. IN my mind the sharks had a ROLE that was easy to IDENTIFY but now the STRUCTURE of that view is different and I now see sharks as just another animal.
The most interesting fact in this article is how sharks are so complicated that they can travel so far and yet return to the same place.

Today I read about Clinton fight back at top rivals attacks in contentious debate. This time Hillary Rodham Clinton was waiting for them when rivals John Edwards and Barack Obama went after her in a democratic presidential debate. The sharp exchanges came as the campaign enters the final two months before voting starts. Clinton said that would be a $1trillion tax hike on middleclass Americans. The American people don’t give a dame about any of this stuff that going on up here said Sen. When we waste time on the shrillness of the debate the American people turn off said Sen.

Union Tribune: Progress made on Mideast statement.
Today I have read an article on the progress that the middle east has made if any. In Washington there was a meeting with the Israeli and Palestinian negotiators to peace agreement. The two sides were still not agreeing on much. The Palestinian wanted negotiations to be completed within the next eight months but that is an agreement Israeli did not agree to. The Saudi foreign minister, said he had agreed to come because the United States had promised that the conference would lead to talks on the final status issues that have tormented the peace negotiations since 1979. He also wanted to know about the status of Jerusalem; the fate of Palestinian refugees who left or were forced to leave their homes in Israel; the issue of Israeli settlements in the West Bank; and the borders of a final Palestinian state. The issue here is that there are Palestine people who are being kicked out of their houses by Israelis. I think that this is so unfair. They think that they can just come into their place and get them out because they do not believe in exactly the same thing. This is unfair and Palestine should do something about it, not war but try to figure out a way were no one gets hurt and they get along with each other.
