Muslim countries falling behind on gender equality, report says
In the first article that I read the ISSUE of inequality between genders around the globe. The article began with two opposites the best and the worst, the worst being mostly Muslim countries and the best equality shown in Nordic nations. The study consisted of 128 countries that are complied by the World economic forum. The study looks at how the resources that are available are divided among men and women and not how economically better one is than the other though Japan and the United States are both really powerful economic figures they did place 1rst instead the US placed thirty first, that is eight places lower than it was before this is because there are less women in politics and the pay gap has gotten bigger between the genders. Sweden was ranked number 1 with more women then men in politics an Muslim countries falling into the bottom third making them far behind the other countries.
To summarize this to me appears as EVIDENCE that change must occur in the Muslim countries it is a gloomy thought that they will fall behind the rest of the world and miss out on some innovative minds that could benefit their country. The ISSUE here is equality and by now their should be complete equality at least among the genders.
The most interesting fact that I have learned in this article is that we are falling behind and not progressing in the worlds scale.

AN INSPIRATIONAL TRIBUTE

Students and veterans shared issues at Chula Vista’s Greg Rogers Elementary yesterday. The old folks were in the auditorium watching a video of first- and second-graders with cerebral palsy and other disabilities mastering certain tasks. Then the curtain in the auditorium curtain opened and the same children were singing “God Bless America,” something the kids constructed. It was summarized as a thank-you to the visiting veterans. The audience was illustrated as close to tears. Marcus Kipp, one of the seniors, decided to share with the kids a little about the two wars he fought in. He wheeled himself up to the front of the auditorium, took the microphone and started crying about the 60-year-old evidence, a memory. This significant thoughtful moment was a tribute to the veterans as an early Veteran’s Day.

I think that these kids did the right thing for the veterans yesterday. It was set up for a long time and I think that these kids took a good stand. I will remember this event to see if it will pop up next year.

After leaving the school, Kipp described the kids as inspirational.

U.S. authorities freed 500 Iraqi prisoners Thursday. In an ongoing push to empty American jails of detainees no longer deemed a threat. But the military says it's still holding 25,800 Iraqis waiting to face charges or be given freedom.
The latest release provided only small relief to a detention system strained to the limit by about 17,000. New suspects captured this year in campaigns to secure Baghdad and its surrounding belts, the military said. U.S. officials worry the overcrowded detention camps are sapping resources and will overwhelm Iraq's struggling justice system.
I think that this is a big breakthru in the war. Realesing those prisinors will make iraq happy. The ones still in captiviity still have to under go trials though.

- The San Diego Union Tribune
- Killers lawyers seek new judge
- The article that I read today was about a very big ISSUE that is going on. The issue is about a killer who says that the judge is biased toward his case. The article says that lawyers for a sheriffs deputy who pleaded guilty to killing his wife are arguing that the judge who heard the case was biased and are demanding that he step aside. The lawyers for Lowell Bruce say a different judge should determine how long Bruce will be imprisoned. Bruce pleaded guilty August 14 in el Cajon superior court after EVIDENCE was shown that he was a possible suspect. He pleaded guilty to a voluntary man slaughter charge with no agreement on a prison term, after two judges in separate hearings refused to accept a plea agreement under which he would be confined for 15 years. Judge Allan J. Preckel finally accepted a plea under which Bruce faces up to 21 years at a sentencing hearing set for November 27.
- I think that this article is pretty interesting. To SUMMARIZE it better I should say that I think any judge that he gets will be biased.
- One interesting thing that I learned is that that judge was biased towards Lowell's status in law enforcement.

Worker pulled into wood chipper dies.
An Orange County unidentified man who was trimming wood and feeding it into the shredding machine was killed. Somehow he was pulled into the machine and was killed nobody knows how this all happened but the state safety officials are investigating. They don’t have quite the evidence but they are going to figure away to get more information. One being that they say he is a man but as well do they believe that they are not sure if its male or female. They are trying to get more information to contact the family of this person. I would think being in a situation like this is hard. For a family a friend despite who you are I don’t believe that anyone is or will ever want to face the facts of there loved one being taken away.

I was reading an article that was very interesting, the article was about a sheriff’s deputy who shot and killed his wife Kristen Maxwell-Bruce, 38. The EVIDENCE shows that she was shot on December 14 with a firearm by her husband, Lowell Bruce, in front of their 4 year old child and that she died about an hour after she was shot. The report has been SUMMARIZED and it has been determined that he is in fact guilty, he also pleaded guilty for the crime he committed. Yet what is interesting about this case is that his lawyers are determined to get another judge to give them a different sentence that the one he already received. He had been charged with murder and had been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison. The case was ANALYZED and his sentence was changed when his charge changed to voluntary manslaughter on a plea agreement. Now his lawyers are stating that because that plea agreement had said that the agreement had been for 15 years and he received 21 that the judge is biased against Bruce. So the ISSUE is that the lawyers are asking for a change in judge because the judge that sentence him did not MAINTAIN his end of the plea agreement on biased motives. They want to verify that the new judge is not biased based on the fact that Bruce was part of law enforcement and that the new judge be responsible and give a just sentence. In my opinion the sentence was in fact to lenient and the charge not enough. Yet I might be wrong to charge a man so freely if I don’t know the circumstances that led to that murder.

♫ The article I focused on today was about a 18 year old boy who died. The young boy was identified as a resident from Jamul and was a student at Mesa Community College. The boy verified by the name of Devan Louis Caddell and was 18 years old. A witness who saw when the boy crashed said that Devan was going about 110 mph. The witness also said that Devan could have possibly be racing with a white mustang cobra. While they were racing Devan went off the freeway east of College Avenue when hi scar flew into a King Street backyard and knocked down a large tree and split in half. Devan was driving a Acura Integra 2001. the boy died at the scene.

♫ The category I chose today to read was really interesting. I like racing and reading this article makes me think of what to do next time my friends or brothers want to race on the freeway or wherever. I feel bad for the boy that died it must have affected his family a lot.

♫the most interesting thing I learned with this article is that street racing can lead to death.

Feds OK to seize only half a house in drug case In Branford, Connecticut in 2001 police raided a teacher’s home verified as Von Hofe. Where they found evidence of 65 home-grown marijuana plants when authorities enter the house. The house also consumed glass pipes substances in the home. Harold and wife Kathleen Van Hofe, pleaded guilty as well while in court faced front of the supreme court. Because of the issue that was held against these to, they could have gotten locked up because of the big amount of marijuana found in the home. Both avoided going to jail, but the alternative was to receive probation time. Which summarizes that they are on the verge of getting throw into jail time. They are now being tested and checked on to make sure there is no use of the illegal drug. One thing I didn’t understand about this passage is that usually, when people are found with an ounce or so more than that, they get jail time w/ no other choice. But this teacher and wife avoided jail time and got probation, or maybe I’m wrong because it’s their first time getting caught but still. One thing I didn’t really like was that they court seemed to not have took this job as serious as other peoples cases, well not only cause there’s different judges but it’s a different state, and I don’t know about the laws in Connecticut. But I believe it still isn’t fair, I think things should all be fair. But life will never be that way, so I guess we all have to get used to it.
