today I read in the union tribune that the grossmont union high school district will conduct another enrollment projection study after the last one was criticized for not looking ahead to decide whether a new school is needed in alpine. Last years study projected declining enrollment over a five year period in the district, which currently has about 20,000 students, but it did not look beyond the 2010- 11 school year. the boards bond advisory commission, in its final report this summer, expressed worry that the declining enrollment projections in the five year study could be used to justify not building a high school in the alpine area. The district also must determine how it would be paid for.

- In the zoo we saw many different animals. There were a variety of species. There was also diverse habitats. A lot of the animals we saw were mammals. We saw a couple of birds. We also saw some reptiles. Another thing that we saw were fishes.
- I think that my behavior was good as usual. I did not get in trouble and I didn’t do anything that I wasn’t supposed to. Some ways to act in a zoo are being polite, respectful, and appropriate. For me it wasn’t really hard to behave. I think that any where I go I should behave the same this way I wont get into trouble. I think that the teachers explained the rules well.
- I think that this was a good experience. I did kind of enjoy as long as it gets me out of class. I hope that we go on more trips like this. I didn’t really learn much from this.

Among the animals that I saw there were four chordate groups that I saw and took time examining. The most interesting of the four was the Amphibians group, I found some of the most interesting animals in this group with unique uses. The Poison dart frog is part the amphibian group and its use to humans is quite interesting, the Poison Dart Frog has green and black tie die pattern that more than likely act as a warning to predators. Human on the other hand see this as an opportunity, they boil the dart frog to extract its poison then use its poison for hunting to paralyze small animals and birds. The Dying Dart Frog has another purpose its ooze is used rub the heads of parrots to believably change the color of the feathers and make the bird more valuable. The second group was the reptiles which is one of my personal favorites as they include the Turtles and Tortuous. The tortoise is an enormous animal with a shell and when we were there they moved slow but they moved a lot which is weird because it was cold and reptiles being ectoderms should slow down to keep their heat it must be because they are so large. In the reptile group there are some very unique irregularities in the Zoo they had a display of a two headed Snake it was a California king snake with black and white scales and two heads its an irregularity but a common one among reptiles. Birds and mammals to me because they are seen very often, nun the less the ones in the zoo were quite a site to see. In the Birds category I saw the California condor which are endangered animals with black feathers a bald head and pretty big for a bird. On the opposite end the harpy hawk with black and white feathers this animal is small and predatory. In the Mammals category fall the bears which have some unique qualities but with mostly the same. The giant Panda was small still young and sleeping it had black and white fur separated. The polar bears were more interesting as when I got to see them they were playing and swimming they had white fur with parts of black on their skin.
My behavior was the same as always I believe that it is appropriate zoo behavior. I believe that I will act the next time if I ever go back to the zoo.
I did learn quite a bit and seeing this non indigenous animals make me want to explore other countries and see them in their actual habitats.

Yesterday’s school filed trip to the zoo was a lot more meaningful than our last visit. The second time around, we got to actually see the animals playing around, eating, moving around, and interacting with the other animals. This time around I got to see the animals up close, such as, the spider monkey. The first mammal I saw was the spider monkey, who is believed to be the “loudest” in its species. Last time I didn’t see the monkeys unless they were up high in a tree, sleeping. Second, my behavior at the zoo was perfect, like always. [[: Haha. Im serious. I behaved like an adult by staying quiet, respecting others, and by leading a good example for the rest of my classmates. I liked going to the zoo because it was better than staying in class. But going to the zoo is something you do once every four years. I don’t want to go to the zoo for a long time. <33
