“man with rifle kills 8, then himself during rampage at busy Omaha mall”
►A man dressed in camouflage and wielding a rifle opened fire at a busy department store yesterday, killing eight people and sending hundreds into terrified panic as they ran screaming thought a mall and barricaded themselves in dressing rooms. The shooter, who left a note predicting, “now I’ll be famous,” wounded five other people, two critically, then took his own life. Witnesses said the gunman shot several people in the store’s customer service department and fired down on holiday shoppers from a third-floor balcony, using what police said was an SKS assault rifle they found at the scene. The gunman, identified by police as 19-year-old Robert A. Hawkins of Bellevue, an Omaha suburb, was found dead on the third floor with a self-inflicted gunshot wounded.
►I don’t agree on this shooing because they killed 8 people.
►I don’t agree because he also wounded other 5 people and damaged critically 2 people.
►I also don’t agree because the people that got killed also have family and they will suffer a lot.
►I think the most interesting fact its that he killed 8 people and then left the note “now ill be famous”.

Two in three students deemed out of shape.
Its to be said that California is not progressing in the children and there weight; most children are FAT;! As for teenager’s female’s you have to do at least 7 sit-ups and male’s do at least 16, school’s around California seem to not be feeding the healthy food and that’s what all children need right now, Physical fitness did some test yesterday and the score’s where rarely good not much improvement was made ,there where only a couple of student’s from the grade’s 5th ,7th and 9th who actually passed the exam. High school student’s as well have failed to meet all the requirements for the physical exam’s. parent’s as well are concerned but again when it is time to be said the parents are sometimes the ones who are feeding there children all the junk food;; school’s are no longer selling soda’s or anything its now just juices and water, in order to maintain there weight and health they need to do other sorts of things in there gym classes because they are getting nothing out of just standing there.
I strongly believe that students, teachers and especially parent’s should be worried about there weight because in the future you don’t want to see your young children struggling with there weight, children are always at high risk when it comes down to weight lost. Sooner or later parent’s and everyone in the united states is going to have to see how all the fast-food’s is doing nothing more than giving there children and them a higher possibility of dying. Maybe later on in the future they decided to close up a lot of fast-food places and band certain foods because again all that is happening in the U.S .A is children gaining weight and not taking it off.
I think that the most interesting fact about this is how much of a high risk it is now in California for small children and California just keeps getting bigger and bigger, there really is no stopping.

Phillip Rivers

Phillip rivers a plus for the chargers or a negative. To the team he nothing but both negative and a positive. He does things that good but that no other QB could not do. Like throwing tight spirals a okay long bomb. But his faults go on like cant scramble, overthrows his targets. Takes bad snappers, very uneasy sitting in the pocket. If he could settled down in the pocket he might be able to get a good pass of every time. All the good QBs have good o-line last year chargers had a good o-line this year it is slowly showing that the line is not as strong. Phillip rivers has thrown 22 ints for a past year that is a lot he could be gaining on Brett Favre record. Personally I think they should give the starting job off to Charlie Whitehurst he is a second year quarterback and the style that the chargers play with is more like the style that the played with in college. Charlie might be a rookie but he seems to be more fluent with the ball and more stable. That should have position battles between everybody like all the wide receivers and the corners and every position then they should see who gets the starting spot on the team and who doesn’t sitts on the bench for Sundays or Mondays game that would keep the veterans from playing sloppy and the rookies to play harder.

source; s.d. union tribune.

article; portraits emerge of Omaha gunman, victims.

summary; This morning's blog is about the man behind the mall shooting that left eight people dead yesterday. The shooting took place at a shopping mall in Omaha, Nebraska. The man's name was Robert A. Hawkins and sources say that he had been planning this for a while. Police said that he had an 47-style assault rifle that was believed to have been his step dad's. He walked into the Von Maur department store Wednesday afternoon, ducked out, and returned shirtly after. Unarmed security guards say that his behavior was enough to get attention but by the time security guards chased him, he had already killed five women, three men, and then himself. It is said that that there were many signs that lead to this; he had just lost his job at McDonald's the day before the shooting, his girlfriend and him broke up the day of the shooting, and he had been fighting with his mother for a while before. There was a note found written by the gunman that said, "Go Out in Style," and he also left a note for his mom saying, "Now I'll be famous." =/

reflection; I think that people like Robert A. Hawkins are stupid. He had no excuse to go an kill innocent people. To actually say that now he will be famous for killing people before killing himself is sad. He is not famous for being "cool" and going out with style, he is famous for being a criminal. There are soooo many people I don't like; but I don't go and kill them. =/

interesting fact; Robert A. Hawkin friends say that he had been threatening people for a while before the actual shooting.

Today in the union tribune I read that in san Francisco they are saying it went to far in its pursuit of profit, the popular internet hangout facebook inc. is allowing its 55 million members to permanently turn off its beacon advertising program, which tracks their activities at other websites. The privacy control announced yesterday in an apology by facebook founder mark zuckerburg, will likely decrease participation in a month old program that the palo alto-based startup has hailed as an advertising breakthrough. facebook users protested beacon as a flagrant violation of privacy. the program enables facebook to track their purchases and other actions at dozens of websites and then broadcast the data within its social network as items on other users “new feeds”. We’ve made a lot of mistakes in this future, but we’ve made it even more with how we’ve handled them, zuckerburg said wrote on facebook blog.

- The San Diego Union Tribune
- 2 in 3 students deemed out of shape
- The TEXT that I read today was about the California Physical Fitness Test. Fifteen year old boys have to do at least 16. fifteen year old girls have to do at least 7. that is the CRITERIA that has been set up. That is one of several ANALYZIS that are done in fifth, seventh, and ninth grade. A SIGNIFICANT amount of students don’t measure up. The state released the latest EXAMINE scores yesterday. The scores were RELATED to last years. Only minimal improvement was ILLUSTRATED. Only 27.1 PERCENT of fifth graders, 30.9 percent of seventh graders, and 30.1 percent of ninth graders met the standards.
- I think that this article is pretty interesting. I think that there should be something done about this. I think that it is disappointing that not even half of our students meet the standards.
- One interesting thing that I learned is that 2 out of every three students don’t meet the standards.

Parents told to secure Furniture.

In the past 15 months, several children have been placed into the hospital for injuries of televisions and or other furniture falling on top of them. The ISSUE is that parents are not securing their furniture to prevent accidents like this. If parents choose to put their furniture in more secure spots, it will lower the PERCENTAGE of deaths among infants and furniture accidents.

Union Tribune: Man with rifle kills 8, then himself during rampage at busy Omaha Mall.
Today I have read a very sad article on how a man shot seven men before killing himself in Omaha Nebraska, inside a mall. The man went into the mall dressed in a camouflage suit with a gun. This guy started shooting everyone and finally killed himself but he did leave a note. The note said “now I’ll be famous”. The man shot at shoppers with a SKS assault rifle. The gunman was 19 year old Robert A Hawkins. His victims were found in the third and second floor. They think that the shooting was random. Hawkins had been kicked out of his house by his family and lived with one of his friends family. A woman that hide behind a wrapping closet was then told by the police to come out. They took her to the other side of the mall for her safety. As they were taking her she saw the injured and dead people and all the blood. I think that this is very terrible. I don’t know what makes people make these decisions. If he did not want to be here he should have killed himself and not other people. He did not have to take these innocent people with him.

♫ The article I read about this morning was related to a speed limit sign that was knocked down in North Park. A speed limit sign was knocked down about six months ago. The streets name is Upas street it is located between grim Avenue and ray Street. The speed limit sign was a 20 mph sign it was so that people could drive slow in the neighborhood because Grim avenue and Ray street are tight squeezed streets. A resident form the block said that the speed limit signs that have gotten post up there have been getting knocked down repeatedly over the years. Soon after the latest accident that happened on Upas street and the sign got knocked down again the residents of the block reported that the speed limit sign had been knocked down and waited for the city of San Diego to replace it. The residents that are worried about their neighborhood think that the city should replace the speed limit sign because a lot of people and mostly kids think that it’s a raceway. They should just fix it.

♫Reflection =]
♫ I think that the people from this street are right they should replace the sign. It would be a much more safer thing to do. I think that the city should just fix it and this time put it in a spot where its more random to get knocked down.

♫Fact =]
♫ An important sentence that I read in this article was that traffic engineers are trying to look for a spot where to put the sign back on so they wont knock it back off again.

Retiree, a survivor of Auschwitz, had a Nazi as a neighbor Holocaust survivors who have immigrate to the US for a better life, live everyday with horror from their remembrance of what had once happened to them in their past days. In Mesa Arizona lived Nathan Gasch one of those few people who survived from the horrible torture by Hitler in Germany. Next to Gasch there lived Martin Hartman and his wife, Hartman who was once a Nazi. Gasch like many others are tatted with some numbers on their left arms, that was used to indicate all the victims of the Holocaust by Nazi. Gasch stated that one day Hartman and his wife invented him over to their house acting friendly, Gasch agreed to come in. That was when Gasch noticed I picture of Hartman posed with a Nazi hat . Gasch explains that as he viewed the photo he left the house with discomfort. After that Gasch never reported anything to authorities, thinking that maybe it was not that big of a deal. Later investigators when through Hartman's history where they discovered that he was once an armed SS guard at Germany’s Sachsenhausen concentration camp during the World War II. There at the camp prisoners were forced to slave labor, treated to horrific medical experiments and lots of torture. When authorities realized Hartman’s past they sent him out of the US and sent Hartman and wife back into Germany. As many refugees have left their homes to come here to US for a better life, there are some people that never deserved that freedom. I think those bad people shouldn’t have the same freedom. But sometimes there's nothing that can be done . But later one will pay for all the bad things they once did.
