Man with rifle kills 8, then himself during rampage at busy Omaha mall.
While at a Omaha mall;; a man all in camouflage and with a rifle entered the department store in a hurry, he literately killed about 8 people and scared early everyone in the mall, with many people trying run for cover in dressing room’s and behind things. This man as well wounded 5 other’s and left 2 in critical condition’s. after scaring and threatening many people he then decided to take his own life but before doing so; he life a note which stated “ Now I’ll be famous”. Soon after it all police Identified the person;;, his name was Robert A. Hawkins age 19. before all that had occurred, Hawkins's called his ex girlfriend;; told her that he left a note for her on his bed but he was willing to say nothing else except that she should go get the note because it explained a lot of things, she then called CNN and called his mother over; together they read the note, she then called police to tell them about what her son had said in the suicide note; later on hat day the mother saw many injured people coming into the hospital and she was then informed who and what caused it all;; she was shocked and of course very upset.
I don’t understand how someone who just has been threw so little puts his family and other people in pain. I would be very scared if I was in all of those peoples situation, thinking on it a young boy doing something this extreme just because of losing his job and his girlfriend. I really think that its crazy how before killing himself he actually left a note just saying that he will now be famous. What I really feel for is the family of the young man, I would imagine how they feel as well for the ex girlfriend.
The interesting part about all of this is that he wrote his mother and girlfriend the same thing as he did before he decided to take his life away. That’s what seems very interesting as if he is trying to state something.

Christmas Pine Farms Shrinking....

Palm Trees we got. They say that they are going to be short on Christmas trees this holiday. The farms have to keep cutting down their trees and they cannot be reproduced as quick. What is really choking the supply though is not just the fires that happened, but age and plastic. The aging farmers are retiring and the evergreen fake plastic christmas tree is also getting popular. The thing that killed the tradition of you going out and cutting your own christmas tree was when the October wild fires happened. Since 1995 more than 2/3 of the acreage planted in Christmas trees has been converted to other uses.

I rgink this is not good because alot of poeple wanted to go out and cut their own christmas tree but all they have to do is get in line like everyone else and get there tree before they run out. I think it is a good thing that the farmers are actually taking their time and trying to reproduce as much trees as they can

With newer use of technology it has helped to construct many innovated existing tracking devices including cell phones with a GPS built in to help parents keep track of their kids. So about that jacket it’s a new device made costing about $500 plus a $20 monthly. There have also been other devices such as keeping updated with your kids lunch, thanks to a websites called MyNutriKids; other like your kids grades on a pop quiz, if your kid is speeding you can also be alerted and you can even honk and flash there lights until they slow down. Cell phone companies have also programmed something they call “safety checks” to let parents know if they made it to practice on time by Sprint company, also Verizon had set up a geotencing that alerts when kids leave a limited area. And the most unbelievable thing is that there also is an invention as a chip that can be implanted into your child's skin. But really do you believe this is really worth the money or time? I wonder what these kids will say when they find out that there parents have been tracing after everything they do? I think all of these new devices have gone too far. All these new things consider parents stalkers. From mu point I don’t think I would like to spy on my kids on have him wear a GPS without knowing. Really I think all of these things will just make kids want to rebel. I know that no one would like to be tracked or stalked by their parents, not even the parents themselves. So why do it to your kids? My assess about this topic is that kids need privacy as well they should be able to go out and have a few rights and be trusted of course. I rather have my kid tell me where he or she is at then me finding out behind their back. As more and more years past it seems like there is no such thing as privacy for kids anymore, I think that’s wrong. Kids should be able to live their lives how they want, but of course keep in touch with their parents. I can relate to how kids feel because I know what it is like to have your parent constantly on your back, and all it really did was frustrate me.
My overall concept is that teens should be treated like the rest of us, all equally. I think they should do that GPS thing to parents to see how they feel.

- The San Diego Union Tribune
- Man with rifle kills 8, then himself during rampage.
- I ASSESS the article that I read today to be pretty sad. It is about a crazy man that opened fire at a busy department store yesterday. He CONSISTED of a camouflage outfit and had a rifle. He killed eight people and send hundreds into panic as they ran screaming through a mall and barricaded themselves in dressing rooms. The shooter who left a TEXT saying now I’ll be famous. He Affected five others and two of them were critically hurt. The gunman was identified as Robert A. Hawkins was 19 years old. Police say there was not any RELATION or CONCEPT to the shooting.
- I think this article is pretty sad. I don’t know what the guy was thinking. I feel sorry for the innocent people who died.
- One interesting thing that I learned was that he was shooting from the third floor down to the second floor.

♫ In the article I read about this morning was related to a man who killed eight people at a shopping mall. A man in Omaha, Nebraska killed eight people then killed himself. He was dressed camouflage while holding a rifle. He then went into a department store that was very busy and full of people because of the holiday shopping. While the man killed eight people hundreds of more people ran out of the store screaming and panicking. After all the concept that I read about the article it said that the man who was identified by the name of Robert A. Hawkins and was apparently 19 years of age. He was found dead on the third floor of the mall with a self inflicted gunshot wound. The shooter left a note telling his mom that he was going to kill himself.

♫Reflection =]
♫ After what I read about this morning my assess for this article is very shocked. That was one crazy boy who went and did something like that. I hope his mom is okay and all the people that were at the mall at the time.

♫Fact =]
♫ One very interesting thing I read in this article was that according to the note he left his mom he wrote down “now ill be famous.”

Today in the union tribune today I read that a man murdered 8 people and wounded four. A man dressed in all camouflage and holding a rifle opened fire at a department store yesterday killing 8 people and sending hundreds into terrified panic through the mall and some hiding in dressing rooms. The shooter was recognized to be 19 year old Robert A. Hawkins of Bellevue Omaha, left a note saying “now ill be famous”, also wounded five others, and two are in critical condition then he took his own life. Many witnesses said he shot several people in the stores service department and fired down on holiday shoppers. Police said he was using sks assault rifle they found at the scene. chief of police Thomas warren said the shooting to be random. He would not release the victims names and gave no motive for the attack which occurred shortly after two p.m. Hawkins was kicked out by his family about a year ago. He moved in with a friend and his family in a middle class suburb said maruca-kavoc. Kavoc also said Hawkins was fired from his job at McDonalds this week and recently broke up with his girlfriend. She said he called her around 1 p.m. yesterday telling her that there was a note in his bedroom. She tried to get him to explain but he said it was too late.
I think that this guy had a reason because everything that could possibly bad happened to a person because he was kick out of his house, he lost his job and his girlfriend broke up with him so he basically hit rock bottom.
I feel sorry for this guy but he should have went to help instead of shooting up a department store.

Darfur Horrors, Largely ignored in the West, told with some hope.

This article CONSiSTS of the horrific images children see in the country of Darfur. A film called "Sand and Sorrow" is about the history of Darfur. George Clooney will be the narrating VOiCE of the film. The ISSUE with Darfur is that there is a government called the Sudanese government who want to get rid of all people in Darfur who do not fit their standards of being a citizen. There is a difference among the STRUCTURE of people they RELATE. The narrative traces the history of Afro-Arabs versus Non-Arab Africans.
I think that this video would be a great touching story to tell everyone that everything is not okay in the world. There are many terrifying things happening in the world and this film will help release those hidden secrets of the world. Also, in the film there are pictures that the children of Darfur drew to show what they've seen.

SD Union Tribune;;
Article;; Housing Prices Still Holding Up Fairly Well in San Diego
Summary;; This morning’s blog is based on an article about high prices in San Diego homes. The article was based on a study released last week by the U.S. Council of Mayors, San Diego did not even make the top 50 list of communities that will hurt by the decline in home prices next year. San Diego actually ranked 88th place in a roster of 362 areas nationwide. Compared to the study, San Diego will lose $1.6 billion in gross because of the housing crisis. This is also reduce our economic growth by 0.9%. So compared to the rest of the nation, San Diego is holding up fairly well. Another thing to keep note of is that the median home price in the San Diego County has dropped by $30,000 over the past year.
Reflection;; I don’t really have any opinion except for the fact that I don’t think prices are fair. I think that housing should still go down a little because they are still very expensive.
