“STATE WINS CHALLENGE TO LAW ON EMISSIONS”
►What i read in the newspaper was that California scored a significant legal victory yesterday as it approaches an end-of-the-year showdown with the Bush administration over regulating vehicle emissions to curb global warming. U.S. District Court Judge Anthony Ishii's rejection of an automaker challenge to the state's greenhouse gas law was the third opinion issued this year to back California, including a landmark ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court. Meanwhile, the U.S. Senate is expected to take up an energy bill that includes a gradual increase in gas mileage standards, which could influence California's campaign to slow global warming even as the political and legal tussles continue.
►I don't agree because they are us pay more.
►I also don’t agree because they are talking about “global warming”.
►In the other hand I think its good because it could help us.
►I think the most interesting fact its that thy passed the law.
Today in the union tribune I read that ike turner died about two days ago, he was 76. he had won the Grammy award twice, and help launch the popularity of rock n roll. But he was also known to be addicted to drugs and spousal abuse (Tina turner). His manager, Scott Hanover confirmed he was dead, but the cause of his death was not. Turner had lived in san marcos since his release in the early 1990s. During that time, he struggled to revive his musical career and shed his public image as a tyrannical bandleader who physically assaulted his former wife, singer Tina turner. Ike and Tina had abandon their personal and musical partnership In the mid 70s. In a statement yesterday Tina had said I have not spoken to him in over three decades. In an interview in 1994 with the san Diego union tribune he stated “ that’s all a one sided story, I got my own story to tell. I'm a big part of her life. If you take me out of the movie, then there is no movie. If you take me out of her career, then there is no career. Its as simple as that.
I think that it’s a shame that he has died but its also pity because he was a bad man to himself and his wife. He abused drugs and beat his wife Tina. But there is a good side to him too but musically. He was also self centered and thought whatever he got he deserved more.
Doctor’s fix severe heart problem;;
Melenaite Tatofi a child by the age of 10 from Honolulu arrived at her hometown happy and exited because she was ecstatic that she was going to be able to dance, and sing in church again. She will no longer have to struggle with breathing difficulties anymore, despite being very happy that her family is happy as well, she again wants to thank her doctor’s at Children Hospital that helped her through her surgery. She had a aortic valve defect as severe, one of every 50,000 births contain it but the doctor who did melenaite’s most resent surgery said that the children hospital treats two or three children with the same diagnose every year. Her and her family have taken many trips to San Diego just to get her operation, and the trips all started when she was just born, she has included to have 4 operation’s to repair and replace valves which is contained with some tissue or cow and pig. but for melenaite it is not over she still has many more operation’s as she outgrows the transplants but doctors say that she will be very fine and will live long to have a very healthy life.
Many children have had very rough lives and have probably been through what melenaite is going through but difference is that she is getting all the help, no matter that its taking them many times to come to San Diego over and over she seems to have faith and each time she comes out of that room she want to thank the doctors that are taking care of her in the surgery room.
The reason I chose this article is because I am very much interested in what children’s defects are and how they are taken care of and especially about a young child, its something even more touching and something that will catch your eye when you just see the age of the person getting the operation.
Today I read an article, it was about a guy named Bob Kitts he was hired by Reece to do some home improvement to an old house. When Kitts was tearing down a wall he found a box and it was full of old rare money and it was still in good condition. Then he called Reece and he came over and they found two more boxes, the first one Kitts found had only $500 bills and a $1,000 bill. They found a total of $182,000 but the money was rare and collectible that the value increased value, it was worth $500,000 . Now. They didn’t know who the money belonged to, until they saw a name in the box they found but he was dead and he was unmarried and had no children. Now Kitts and Reece are fighting for who keeps the money and the only talk to each other by lawyers.

Man pleads guilty in ambulance joyride, assault on deputy.
A 19 year old man took an ambulance for a joyride and high speed chase through Carmel Valley and Fairbanks Ranch. Nicholas Harris stole a Carlsbad Fire Department ambulance while he was being treated for a cut on his foot at Scripps Memorial Hospital-Encinitas. Harris earned himself a strike against the California 3 Strikes Law. He is charged with Assulting a police officer with a deadly weapon by ramming a patrol car with the ambulance, evading arrest, driving on the wrong side of the road, and auto theft. He faces a maximum 6 years and 4 months.
I think this guy has problems. If he was in the ambulance to get his foot checked out, why would he high jack the ambulance? He might have been scared that he would get caught doing something that resulted in the injury of his foot.

Article;; School on Mission to Boost Attendance
Summary;; This morning’s blog is based on the text I read in yesterday’s newspaper. The article was about the effect student’s attendance had on the school district. But it was focusing on the Sweetwater School District. The article was explaining how student’s are constantly missing periods throughout the school day because they want that extra five minutes of sleep, then it turns into 10 minutes, then they eventually miss their first period of the school day. Then missing a class, even just one, can mess up a student’s entire week. But this isn’t the only a missed class messes up. The school district is also losing a lot of money each time a student decides to miss school. In fact, they are losing about $37 for each student. Good attendance is good business. If all 42,000 7th-12th graders decided to miss a day less of school, the district would be making $1.5 million. That could mean more money to pay teachers, meaning that classrooms could get smaller. But all of this is actually up to students and parents. The school has done everything it can; like raffles giving away laptops, iPods, and gaming systems. Schools in the district have set up little campaigns on their own with individual slogans to set the positive example for attending school.
Reflection;; I think that the idea is good but I don’t think that schools are only concerned for the students. I think the only reason why they’re so crazy about the idea is because of the money they could have gotten. But if I was them, that would probably be a big concern of mine as well. But- it’s true, the student could benefit from having smaller classrooms. Students could get a better education and have a better chance of going onto college.
Interesting fact;; There are even videos on ‘youtube’ trying to get students to have perfect attendance.
♫ The article I read about this morning was related to a little girl named Melenaite Tatofi. Melenaite is only 10 years old. She was born with a aortic valve stenosis which is an abnormal narrowing of the aperture that pumps blood to the rest of a persons body. Since Melenaite was first born she keeps making trips back and forth to san Diego’s children’s hospital and many other hospitals. The medical treatment that she has been taking has included four complex operations so that they can repair and also replace valves. Some of the replacements were tissues from a cow or a pig. The way that the doctors found out about Melenaite was way before her birth. The doctors did and ultra sound on her mother and they saw that at the time was an unborn child who is now Melenaite and is ten years old, was a child with an abnormal heart.
♫Relflection =]
♫ I think that this little girls story is sad. It’s a very good thing that she is getting treated for her medical problem. I hope she won’t have to suffer so much anymore.
♫Fact =]
♫ An interesting fact that I read about in this article related to Melenaite was that she will be facing more surgeries as she outgrows the transplants.

After he stole a the ambulance he lead police on a high speed chase. Police said that he assaulted a police officer and injured him by ramming the ambulance on his patrol car, and he was driving on the wrong side of the road. The assault charge count as a strike under California's three strike rule. Then police laid a spike strip and he ran over it on purpose which caused an officer to jump. Then he crashed into a grove of eucalyptus trees in a gated community were the guard open the gate for them, then he subdued after the police shot him with a taser gun.
The least most recent event was that there had have been a newspaper article differentiating between two people the people left behind which are The Marine DI Vs. Sgt. Brian Wendel. The setting starts at standing trial over in training. The DI characterized him with vivid illustrations of maltreatment.
“The Marine DI,” stated in illustration “Stomping on shaving kits, drinking water to the point of vomiting, slathering on sunscreen and coating it with dirt. Crammed recruits into bathroom stalls like clowns in a Volkswagen.” Everything planned out by a screaming, glowering Marine drill instructor.
Wendel, 30, encharged of a platoon “Platoon 2167”. They characterized him with all. Charges should be dismissed because the prosecution hasn’t proved its case.
The issue you have to write is does that cross the line.Hittin a recruiter giving him a flashlight for a black eye.
