“Home Prices Tumble”
►San Diego Country’s declining housing market marked another milestone last month, when median price 15 percent from their all-time peak in 2005, a quicker and bigger drop than in the recessionary early 1990s, DataQuick information System reported yesterday. By comparison, the downturn from 1992 to 1996 took place against the drop of a sharp economic decline in San Diego Country that send the median housing price down 11.8 percent, from &174,500 in June 1990to $154,000 in November 1996. From then, local housing prices began their historic run-up until reaching a record of $517,500 in November 2005. Last month’s overall median stood at $440,000 a $200,000 drop from October and $47,000 less than a year earlier.
►I agree with this because if it keeps decreasing we will be able to buy a house.
►I also agree because a lot of people need houses and they are paying rent.
►In the other hand I think its not fair for the people that own the houses that the value keep dropping.
►I think the most interesting fact its that the houses are dropping in price.

Today in the union tribune I read that some insurance guy got shot in the arm. legislation that aims to provide health insurance for 3.6 million Californians while overhauling the state’s health system won approval yesterday from the assembly, giving new momentum to stalled drive to cover the uninsured. But as a round of congratulatory back slapping faded into the night, it was clear that the plan faces significant hurdles. For one thing, senate president pro tempore don perata, d-oakland, is skeptical that the 14.5 billion plan pencils out. He said he will not let the senate vote on the plan until he receives assurances from gov. Arnold that a budget deficit estimated at up to 14 billion will not result in devastating cuts. And even if the plan ultimately gets perata’s backing, the package of business, hospital and tobacco tax increases needed finance the proposal must be approved by voters in November.

Reveiw of I am Legend

The summary of the movie I am Legend. I would like to start of by stating that books are better than movies. Although the reenactment of Will Smith was good it was the fact that the movie gave more imagination to the story. Will Smith played a scientist in the army that was trying to find a cure for virus that became a epidemic across the world. He lost his family and everybody around him. While trying to catch a deer for food he came across what in the movie refereed to a hive of the infected. One of the males showed a force of thinking power and set a trap to catch him. Will Smith character losses his dog in the fight and feels even lonely and decides to kill himself. When he is in the act of killing the monsters he is safe by a girl that was waiting for him by the dock. Will Smith is taking back to his house and sleeps for most of the day and ends up having to protect them from the creature because it followed them back to the house.
Well I feel that the movie followed the exact story line of the book and the graphics betrayed exactly what I thought the monsters were going to look like. This movie is good because the suspense is very high. The sense that this could actually happen was not there and the fact that it will smith did not overact in this movie is very good. He probably grew more as a actor having to play such a serious role.

I was reading a very interesting article about the United Nations task force. It is very ironic the situation they seem to be facing as secrets of their organization come spilling out. The UN is an organization dedicated to controlling and ensuring world long lasting peace. It is an organization committed to protecting weaker nations from corrupt powerful nations. They are an organization that is focused on helping those nations that are poor, from supreme authoritarians. Yet, an organization so dedicated to protect the destitute is actually covering up crimes committed by their members. The organization claims that they had no idea that some of its members were taking advantage of the poor nations they were supposed to be protecting, using the money the country’s were given in aid. Yet reports say that since 1994 the organization was aware of various inaccuracies with their reports. They did nothing to keep investigating the incidents. Now for some reason they were pushed to reprimand one of the men charged with misconduct, and even though he is a suspect, they are not really taking any certain action against him. They can pass over the case to authorities yet they are letting it be for now and authorities have until December 31 of this year to intervene.

There was a terrible accident where a 19 year old college student near the college area was hit by a car, where the car did not stop. The driver of the vehicle was said to be intoxicated and commit a hit and run scene. Eric Joseph Leeman 21, was the driver from the accident. Leeman admitted that he had left from the scene where Whitney Young was hitting. The accident had happened at 3:15 am on November 12, crossing Montezuma Road near Rockford Drive while Whitney was with a group of friends. Leeman pleaded guilty at the San Diego Supreme court. Judge Peter C. Deddeh scheduled a hearing for his sentence. Because of Leeman’s guilty plea Deputy District Attorney Allison Worden dropped remaining charges that where also against Leeman. Stating that there was a possibility that he may have gotten sentenced 15 to life in prison, for conviction of a second-degree murder. Witness who testified also say that they saw a car who had hit Young and continued driving without slowing down or stopping. Others have also said that they had seen Leeman drinking alcohol at a party earlier that day a few hours before the incident. His defense attorney, Roseline Feral after the scheduled hearing she will ask for a less sentence of about 9 years. She also stated that the incident of Leeman’s hit and run was unfortunate and Leeman doesn’t deserve to be charged for murder. I believe that it was very wrong what he did during the accident especially while he was under the influence. But what makes it worse was that Leeman did not stop to see if everything was okay, because in the end he would of still had consequences even though if maybe he wouldn’t have go caught up, so therefore I think he should be charged for murder but probably nine years in prison. I know for a fact this will change his life.

“Palestinians promised $7.4 billions in aid”
►Countries and international organizations pledged $7.4 billions in assistance to the impoverished Palestinian authority at a conference yesterday, saying that the infusion of cash would help the peace process begun by the United States last month in Annapolis, Md. The giving topped the pre-conference goal of $5.6 billion for west Bank and the Gaza Strip for the Next three years. “this is the most promising opportunity to seek peace that we have had in nearly seven years, and we need seize it,” said U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in announcing $555 million in U.S. assistance. Much of the U.S. contribution had been announced by the with House and must still be approved by congress.
►I agree because they could help this country.
►I also agree because they could also help each other.
►In the other hand I don’t agree because what if they don’t use for good and they just waste it.
►I think the most interesting fact its that the are going that much money.

Article; "Teen Die Hours After Liver Transplant Apporved"

Summary; This morning I read an article on CNN.com about a girl who died just hours after her health insurance company reversed its decision not to pay for a liver transpolant that doctors said she needed. The mother is very upset and angry with the insurance company because she say that they are responsible for her daughter's death. The seventeen year old girl had been suffering from leukemia and the doctors decided that she may need a liver transplant. After deciding they sent the request to the insurance company and they were the last determining factor. The mother is saying the they were the reason why she is dead and she is going to sue them. She will be charging them with murder or manslaughter.

Reflection; Rest in peace. I feel sorry for the mother and the rest of her family and friends that are hurting right now. I think that the best thing to do is to give the family some time, and later to sue the insurance company because they were the ones to approve the surgery that killed the girl.
