Police dogs' duty more dangerous.

A man is being trialed for shooting a police dog. The maximum time for a sentencing for killing a police dog is 3 years. This article talks about the training of dogs, what they are used for. How dogs die and their past history. Police dogs are trained to smell drugs, bombs and bring back the suspects. They run fast and are fearless. Police dogs usually die from stress, being in the hot car, or for being shot or stabbed or beat from suspects. In the past, they were used for crowd control until a police dog attacked one of the members in the crowed.

I think since dogs are part of the police department people should get sentenced for killing them. Police dogs do a great deal that humans cannot do. So they should be acknowledged as part of the department.

One interesting fact i learned is how the dogs die.

“Intelligence Chief Declines To Define Waterboarding”
►What I read about the newspaper today was that after the public ask the nation's intelligence chief and he said that it will be torture if used against him or someone under interrogation actually was taking water into his lungs. And also he said that if ever is determined to be torture, there its going to be a huge penalty to be paid for anyone engaging in it.
►I agree because they shouldn't leave any to use.
►I agree also because the people that its being interview also it a human.
►In the other hand I don’t agree because then the people its not going to talk.
►I think the most interesting facts its that they are actually doing this so it could be exterminated but we also need it.

Today in the union tribune I read that in riverside a man shook a ten month old baby to death, was sentenced 25 years to life in prison. Jason Cruz or corona was sentenced Friday on a charge of second degree murder. Prosecutors said he attacked Alanna Villareal, his girlfriends daughter. In Oakland a fifth grader was hit by a stray bullet while taking piano lessons may never walk again. The parents of Christopher Rodriguez say the ten year old boy may be paralyzed from the waist down permanently after he was shot Thursday afternoon while sitting on a piano bench at the harmony road music school in north Oakland. Police say jarred Adams, 24, fired three shots while robbing a gas station across the street from the music school. In south lake Tahoe an explosion caused major damage and forced evacuation yesterday afternoon at dennys restaurant in south lake Tahoe officers said. Three people were treated for cuts. The cause of the 3 p.m. blast is under investigation.

Source;; SD Union Tribune

Article;; "Gun Make Critized For Naming Pistol After Police Unit"

Summary;; This morning I read an article on a gun maker that decided to name one of his pistol after a police unit. This took place in Los Angeles, California where the city and civil rights leaders condemned a gun maker. Their reason to do was because he named the pistols after the Police Department's Special Investigation Section whichc also happenes to be the undercover unit. Critics are expressing thier concern because they are almost identical. Meaning that, if any member of the public was shot with one of these guns and there was a cop around; who would be responsible?

Reflection;; I think that this situation is very complicated. I think that there is a way people can change something on the pistol to make it more different. Plus, I think that they should be forced to give it another name due to the circumstances.

Interesting thing;; It never said what they decided to do about the pistols.

Police dogs

A man on trial for throwing a police dog of the Coronado bridge. The maximum time for a sentencing for killing a police dog is 3 years. This is like killing a police officer. This article talks how they trained the police talks to do what they do in service. What the dogs have done in there past lives. Police dogs are trained to smell drugs, bombs and bring back the suspects. The reason why they have police dogs because the have certain traits a human may not be able to do like run faster, smell better, sense of knowing if someone is in trouble. Police dogs usually die from stress, being in the hot car, or for being shot or stabbed or beat from suspects. In the past, they were used for crowd control until a police dog attacked one of the members in the crowed. I think dogs are part of the police department people should get sentenced for killing dogs as if they were humans period. Police dogs do a great deal that humans cannot do. They should be credited as they are the ones who have made the bust or have survived.

♫The article I read about this morning was about a lady who can’t wait to get reunited with her son. The son of Clara Rojas was taken away from her when he was only 8 months old. Clara Rojas was a victim along with Ingrid Betancourt who were kidnapped by Columbian rebels. Rojas gave birth almost four years ago by a kitchen knife caesarean section. It seems that the father of the little boy that Clara Rojas gave birth to was the son of one of the rebels who kidnapped her. When the boy who at this time is known as Emmanuel was born he suffered a broken arm when he was pulled out. Ingrid Betancourt seems to still be captivated still says that after the rebel got Rojas pregnant he was never seen again after that. The only reason that Rojas let the rebels take her son was because they were going to treat his broken arm for two weeks but they never brought her baby back the sent him out for adoption.

♫ My Reflection =]
♫My opinion on this article is very sad. I think that being taken away from your new born baby is the saddest thing in the world that could happen. I hope that Clara Rojas reunites with her son very soon.

♫ Interesting Fact =]
♫An interesting fact that I read about in this article was that Clara Rojas and Ingrid Betancourt were victims of a hostage.

=Pilice Dogs in Danger=
This morning I have read an article about the use and misuse of the k-9 police dogs. In new years eve a dog named Stryker died while trying to catch “the bed guy.” He was sent to attack a man after he was avoiding police from Ocean Side to Coronado. The dog chased the man on the Coronado bridge where the man jumped off taking the dog with him. The man serviced but the heroic dog died. The man, Cory Byron, pleaded not guilty from his hospital bed on Tuesday. The last dog to die in the line of duty was in 2003 when the k-9 was shot. But not all police dogs die in the “line of duty.” Some k-9s have died while being left in the squad car too long in a hot day. Also some have died because they were pushed too harsh in training. Dogs are being neglected so much that there is no status in the deaths on k-9s lost in the line of duty.

=I personally think that the k-9s do the most dangerous part of the job and they have been taking advantage.

=The people in charged of keeping the number of cops killed in the line of duty should also keep count for the k-9s.

=The dog killed in new years should inspire the cops in charged of other police dogs to take more precautions.

=The attacks against police dogs have increased in the last fifteen years.

Charity at work This article was about the projects by father Joes villages to help low income residents, and the homeless. People know father Joe Carroll as the priest who asks for donated cars to support his St. Vincent de Paul village. But many do not know that he is an emerging person. Father Joe is a downtown developer. The ubiquitous catholic clergyman is in the middle of a building boom. A $73 million low-income apartment project under construction at 16th and market street. Now Carroll wants to knock down a converted warehouse at his 15th and commercial campus. His plans are to use that property to build a 12 story high apartment for transitional housing. Which will be used as a living place for homeless and low income families, also including a children's center. The price tag to the building process is an estimation of is $43 million. I think it is a great idea what this priest is trying to do. I believe that building more places for homeless and low income families will help them from sleeping out in the streets. Not only that but when these people have kids, it sucks to see the kids in the same position as there parents because there innocent. I believe that these kids don’t need to see what it is like to live out and the streets, I mean it is the parents fault but it’s not right that there kids have to go down with them and that is what only a few of them realize.
