K-9 Partner Is Saluted
►What I read in the newspaper today was that in Oceanside the police officers are saluting in honor to the dog that “liked to chew on the seats in the back of the cruiser”, was killed yesterday. And now they are doing all this for the dog. And also they are wasting their time by doing this, several hundred people, that’s a lot of people.
►I don’t agree because they are wasting too much time and that later we got to pay by taxes.
►I also don’t agree because the dogs didn’t ask for nothing and for they it don’t even mater they just want a little ball in which it can chew it.
►In the other hand they are serving us so we can do some respect back.
►I think the most interesting fact its that for real they are doing it.

Source;; Union Tribune.

Article;; "SD Talent May Shine on Idol"

Summary;; This morning I read an article in the San Diego Union Tribune about American Idol. It was specifically on the crowd in San Diego that tryed out for American Idol. The producers are saying that a lot of the actualy 'good' contestants are going to be from San Diego.

Reflection;; This article did not really interest me. I did however, enjoy the fact that the best contestants are going to represent the city of San Diego. I might actually watch the show now.

Interesting fact;; The San Diego auditions will be featured in the "Idol" episode airing on January 22, 2008. [[:

Today in the union tribune, I read that American idol is bigger than ever. As it begins with a seventh season, the mighty American idol could be more buoyant than ever. and if the show does as well as expected, some of the credit may go to the auditions held in July at QUALCOMM. I don’t really want to name names because it always looks like I’m favoring people. But in general the really interesting contestants and probably the stars will come out of san Diego, executive producer Nigel Lythgoe said of the auditions, which drew an estimated 12,000 idol hopefuls to the stadium. You can never really tell because you don’t know how people are going are going to grow, but it was really, really good audition there. The san Diego auditions will be featured in the idol airing Jan. 22. the infusion of perfect time. The audience of last years American idol season finale was down to almost 6 million viewers from the 2006 signoff, and initial sales for winner Jordan sparks debut album have been underwhelming. But the smash albums by former contestants Chris daughtry and Carrie Underwood still on the charts and the writers strike leaving prime time television packed with returns and lesser reality shows.

- The San Diego Union Tribune
- MySpace promises to make site safer
- The article that I read today was about the MySpace web site. It says that under mounting pressure from law enforcement and parents, MySpace agreed on Monday to take steps to protect youngsters from online sexual predators, and bullies, including searching for ways to better verify user’s ages. The hugely popular online hangout will create a task force of industry professionals to improve the safety of users, and other social-networking sites will be invited to participate. The deal comes as sites such as MySpace and Facebook have grown exponentially in recent years, with teenagers making up a large part of their membership. This has created a new potential venue for sexual predators who lie about their age to lure young victims and for cyber bullies who send threatening and anonymous messages.
- I think that this is an ok article. But I think that they are making too big of a deal just for this website. I know parents want to keep their kids safe from perverts but It shouldn’t be this big.
- One interesting thing that I learned is that the only state not joining the agreement was Texas.

Oil spills 2.8 million gallons in South Korea. A honk Kong super tanker was slammed by a Samsung Corporation. Nearly 2.8 million gallons and 66,000 barrels of crude was in the ocean. Residents and workers tried to remove the oil with buckets. The coast guard dispatched 62 ships and five helicopters to help bring in the ocean. The disaster doubled when the oil spread from the shore to four miles in the ocean. Some say with out the ocean there sea food will go down cause that is were most of the U.S. seafood comes from. The coast guard states that it is unclear how long it will take to clean up the mess but they will do the best they can. I think that the food that will be coming from that area will be bad for the next couple of menthes because of the oil effects the animals in that environment. If we take a chance on eating that seafood then we could get sick are selves and have a epidemic on are hands. I also think that Korea should move some of the animals in that area so they wont get sick and die. The national emergency manager says she will not make this a emergency yet until certain things have showed up in people behavior or people going swimming in that area, or people get sick.

♫County Youth Camp Teacher Jailed♫

♫The article I read about this morning was about a teacher at a county juvenile probation camp that got arrested for possessing child pornography. The teachers name is Edgardo Vilas. He is 42 years old. Vilas declined to enter a plea at a hearing on Monday so he remained in custody. If Vilas is convicted he faces a maximum of ten years in prison. The school that Edgardo Vilas teaches at was rancho del Campo. That is a county run detention camp in campo for juvenile offenders. The way that Vilas got caught was because in November agents learned that the user of an email address later found to belong to him.

♫ My Reflection ♫
♫I think that this man is crazy I wouldn’t feel safe knowing that my teacher watches or has something to do with child pornography. I hope this man gets what he deserves for this. Lets just hope that he didn’t do anything to all the students he had or he’s had before.

♫ Interesting Fact ♫
♫An interesting fact that I learned in this article was that Vilas also admitted to purchasing child pornography consistently over the past ten years.

I was reading a very interesting article. The article was about the sheriff in orange county, and how he is being charged as using his position as official to obtain money and gifts. The whole situation sounds as if it came out of a movie script. The head of police involved in corruption? It sounds very exaggerated and something like from a play, but is true. Michael Carona, 52, is being accused of fraud, bribery and corruption. After being accused of all of this he still states that he is innocent and that he is being framed. But, yesterday in order to have America's best legal team defend him he had to resign to his job. No matter what he lost his job. He is truly sadden by the whole experience. Yet his action in the past have been questioned. His wealth has been subject to speculation. All in all the case is very shocking and unfortunately if found guilty can discourage many Americans to believe that this country’s police is corrupt.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed a legislation requiring manufacture in new models of semiautomatic handguns. Guns in California will now be sold with a stamp. On these stamp there will be a printed serial number, placed on the shell casings. Schwarzenegger also signed a bill banning lead ammunition in the sprawling range of endangered California condor. The handgun id law, will enable police to link spent shells to the gun that fired them. No other state uses this type of technological technique. Arnold states that the reason he has signed this bill was for the purposed use of the law enforcement.
